CCI and students from CCIA Member Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business teamed up to conduct two commercialization studies.
The first, entitled “Technology Transfer Processes in Federal Agencies,” looks at the dynamics of the technology transfer processes in various Federal agencies. It identifies bottlenecks and roadblocks which impede successful technology transfer in the Region, and suggests potential solutions which would help overcome these obstacles. The study was written by GU Business School student Matthew Riggins and CCI Innovation Program Director Roger London.
The second study looks at one of the technology transfer and investment arms of the Federal government, and one of the success stories of the Region, In-Q-Tel. Entitled “In-QTel as an Early Stage Investment Model,” the study takes an in-depth look at the operational strategy, structure and process of this government fund, examining how it provides value to its primary stakeholder, the Central Intelligence Agency. It further determines if the model is replicable within certain government frameworks. The study was authored by GU Business school students Omid Mashhadi, Matthew Riggins, Teezar Firmansyah and Ari Kantrowitz and CCI Innovation Program Director Roger London.
